The intensive examination of generative production processes was also the focus for the STUDENT DESIGN AWARD for Rapid Manufacturing. In 2011, for the fifth time, Messe Erfurt and the Thuringian Foundation for Technology, Innovation and Research (STIFT) awarded this prize to students of product design, jewellery and industrial engineering. Participants from all over the region submitted their work. The seven jurors – Herr Brünner (neuesLicht), Herr Prof. Gebhardt (CP GmbH), Herr Baum (VDID e.V.), Herr Prof. Reichert (Reichert Design), Herr Prof. Raab (Hochschule Coburg), Herr Sauer (Bauhaus.TransferzentrumDESIGN e. V.) sowie Herr Prof. Stübner (FH Aachen) – selected the best works from this year, which were then produced with the aid of well-known companies and presented and premiered during Rapid.Tech.
